Pocket Inlet


Pocket Inlet (52˚36'00" 131˚53'00" SE of Tasu Sd, W side of Moresby I, QCI). Explorer Newton Chittenden named this feature Grand View Inlet in 1884, calling it “one of the securest retreats for small boats ever seen.” Early fishermen called it God’s Pocket, supposedly because the inlet’s entrance points extended far enough N and S to completely protect the inner harbour and reminded them of a pocket flap.
