Pirates Cove


Pirates Cove (49˚05'55" 123˚43'40" SE side of De Courcy I, just S of Gabriola I, Gulf Is). This feature, formerly known as Gospel Cove or The Haven, was the site of the main colony of Brother XII, a former British mariner whose real name was Edward Arthur Wilson (1878–1934). He and his followers, many of whom were from the US and quite wealthy, built a home beside the cove and developed an old farm in the island’s interior in the late 1920s and early ’30s.
