Pipestem Inlet


Pipestem Inlet (49˚02'00" 125˚15'00" E of Toquart Bay, W of Effingham Inlet, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). The inlet, which appears on the 1861 chart of Capt George Richards, was probably named for its shape: it narrows down to form a “mouthpiece” of sorts at the E end, while the stem opens up into the “bowl” of Toquart Bay to the W.
