Pike Island


Pike Island (54˚19'00" 130˚27'00" In Metlakatla Bay, just W of Prince Rupert). Cdr John William Pike (d 1894) served on the Pacific Station, 1862–64, as capt of the paddle sloop Devastation. Before coming to the PNW he had been cdr of HMS Banshee in the Mediterranean, HMS Antelope off W Africa and HMS Vigilant in the English Channel.
