Perley Island


Perley Island (50˚36'09" 126˚19'05" Entrance to Lagoon Cove, off N side of E Cracroft I, SW side of Knight Inlet, E of Port McNeill). This feature was named about 1982 to commemorate Perley Sherdahl, a resident of the Minstrel I area since 1929. He was born in Alberta and lived in California before coming to the central coast. Sherdahl was a logger who, with his wife, Jean, raised a family on a floathouse that he moored for many years in Lagoon Cove. The Sherdahls bought the Minstrel I Hotel...
