Pearse Point


Pearse Point (52˚45'00" 129˚18'00" NW side of Aristazabal I). Named for Mary Charlotte Roper (1869–1943), who was born at Lac la Hache and died at Oak Bay. She married Ernest Theodore W Pearse (1860–1915) in the Kamloops district in 1885. Ernest, from England, came to Victoria as a young man to join his uncle, Benjamin W Pearse, Vancouver I’s surveyor gen and a member of the colony’s executive and legislative councils.
