Parsons Point


Parsons Point (48˚21'00" 123˚44'00" W entrance to Sooke Inlet, W of Victoria, S end of Vancouver I), Parsons Spit (W of Parsons Point). William Forster Parsons was 2nd master aboard the RN survey vessel Herald, under Capt Henry Kellett, who in 1846–47 made some of BC’s earliest Admiralty charts along the S coast of Vancouver I. Kellett named these features in 1846. Parsons retired with the rank of staff cdr in 1872.
