Palmer Anchorage


Palmer Anchorage (52˚37'00" 128˚45'00" S end of Thistle Passage, SW end of Princess Royal I). Lt Henry Spencer Palmer (1838–93) was a member of the Columbia detachment of Royal Engineers, which served in BC 1858–63. The son of a British Army officer, he was born at Bangalore, India, and educated at Bath and the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich.
