Ovesen Point


Ovesen Point (52˚25'00" 127˚14'00" NE end of King I, Labouchere Channel, W of Bella Coola). Andreas Kristian Ovesen (1859–1934) was one of the Norwegian settlers who colonized the Bella Coola valley in the late 1890s. He received a Crown grant for his land in 1901. Mrs Ovesen was the community midwife and nurse in the early days.
