Octopus Point


Octopus Point (48˚48'00" 123˚34'00" W side of Sansum Narrows, opposite Burgoyne Bay on Saltspring I, SE side of Vancouver I). The origin of the current name is uncertain, but prior to 1946 the feature was known officially as Burial Point, a name bestowed by RN hydrographer Capt George Richards in 1858.
