Oak Bay


Oak Bay (48˚26'00" 123˚18'00" Off SE tip of Vancouver I, just E of Victoria and district municipality of Oak Bay). Named after the great profusion of Garry oaks (Quercus garryana) that flourish in this region. Retired HBC officer John Tod was the first white settler in what is now the district municipality of Oak Bay, establishing Willows Farm in 1850.
