Newton Cove


Newton Cove (49˚53'00" 126˚56'00" SW side of Espinosa Inlet, N side of Esperanza Inlet, W side of Vancouver I). The Newton brothers, from Britain, settled on the NW coast of Nootka I with their families in the 1910s. Stanley Newton (1881–1951) built the first home, in 1914, and Gordon Newton (1888–1941), who married Adelaide Blakemore at Alberni in 1914, joined him shortly thereafter. The brothers developed their property with beautiful gardens and trails, acquired Crown grants in 1924...
