Neavold Point


Neavold Point (52˚16'00" 127˚39'00" N side of Dean Channel, just S of Ocean Falls, NE of Bella Bella). Neavold is a misspelling of the name of an early settler in the Bella Coola valley, Andrew O Nesvold (1863–1933). His name does not appear on the list of original Norwegian colonists who arrived in the valley in 1894, but by 1905 he is noted as one of five partners in the Salloomt R sawmill and lumber business that operated in the valley until 1936.
