Napier Point

Napier Point (52˚08'00" 128˚08'00" E side of Campbell I, just S of Bella Bella). Named by Lt Daniel Pender about 1867 after Archibald Napier, the HBC officer in charge of the trading post and general store at Bella Bella, 1867–71, and later at Bella Coola. HBC records state that he committed suicide in 1875 “by taking strychnine.” Archibald Point on the opposite side of the channel is also named for him.
