Murphy Range


Murphy Range (53˚00'00" 129˚11'00" N of Surf Inlet, W side of Princess Royal I). Denis Murphy (1870–1947), son of a Cariboo gold miner and roadhouse operator, became the first native-born judge on the Supreme Court of BC in 1909. He was called to the bar in 1895 and elected MLA for Yale, 1900–1902, serving also as provincial secretary.
