Munro Shoal


Munro Shoal (52˚36'00" 129˚31'00" NW end of Wright Passage, W of Aristazabal I). Named in 1928 for Cpl Andrew Munro (or Munroe), who was a member of the Columbia detachment of Royal Engineers, which served in BC 1858–63. He deserted from the detachment’s HQ at Sapperton sometime prior to June 1861, and nothing else is known about him.
