Mount Parry


Mount Parry (52˚52'52" 128˚45'32" W side of Laredo Inlet, S of Mellis Inlet, Princess Royal I). This 1,052-m peak was named for RN officer John Franklin Parry (1863–1926), who had two commissions on the BC coast as cdr of the RN survey vessel Egeria, in 1903–6 and 1908–10. The grandson of Arctic explorer Rear Adm Sir William Parry (see Parry Bay), he entered the RN in 1877 and was promoted to cdr in 1899 while on survey duty off Australia with HMS Dart.
