Monckton Inlet


Monckton Inlet (53˚19'00" 129˚38'00" W side of Pitt I), Monckton Point (53˚19'00" 129˚39'00" N side of Monckton Inlet). Philip Marmaduke Monckton (1892–1965) was commissioned as a BC land surveyor in 1913 and worked extensively in coastal and northern BC for the provincial Dept of Lands. He was born and raised in S Africa and educated in England, coming to BC with his parents in 1908.
