Mitchell Point

Mitchell Point (50˚37'00" 125˚33'00" W side of Loughborough Inlet, N of Heydon Bay, NW of Campbell R). John Frederick Mitchell (1831–1915) was assistant surgeon aboard HMS Bacchante and served on the Pacific Station in 1861–62. He joined the RN in 1856 and rose to the rank of fleet surgeon, retired, in 1878. Mitchell died at London, England.
