Mitchell Cove


Mitchell Cove (49˚28'00" 123˚22'00" W side of Port Graves, Gambier I, Howe Sd, NW of Vancouver). This name was adopted in 1985 for William Gandy Mitchell (1856–1940), who emigrated from NZ to Canada about 1880 and made his home on Gambier I’s West Bay. He later moved to Port Graves, to a property located beside this cove. The Mitchells are one of the oldest families on Gambier, five generations having lived there.
