Milthorp Point


Milthorp Point (51˚14'00" 127˚47'00" N of Hoop Bay, between Cape Caution and Smith Sd, NW of Port Hardy). RCNR lt Patrick Reginald Fairburn Milthorp, from Victoria, was killed in action on Feb 10, 1942, aged 32. He was serving aboard HMCS Spikenard, a Flower-class corvette commanded by Lt Cdr Hubert Shadforth, which was torpedoed in the mid-Atlantic while on convoy duty.
