Miller Reef


Miller Reef (48˚50'00" 125˚20'00" W end of Imperial Eagle Channel, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Named after William Miller, 2nd officer on the Imperial Eagle, the fur-trading vessel that Capt Charles Barkley sailed from London to the PNW and then to China and India, 1786–88. Miller was killed on the Washington coast in 1787 in an altercation with local Quileute First Nation inhabitants.
