Mesher Rock


Mesher Rock (52˚44'00" 129˚18'00" Entrance to Borrowman Bay, off NW side of Aristazabal I). Named in 1926 for Isabella Muir (1870–1940), who was born at Sooke, the daughter of Robert Muir, who came to BC in 1849 with his father and brothers to work at the Ft Rupert coal diggings (see Muir Cove). She married general merchant Frederick James Mesher (1870–1945), from England, at Victoria in 1894, but the two soon divorced, and Mesher wed Sophia Mateo in 1896. He was a son of George C Mesher...
