McDougal Island


McDougal Island (50˚14'00" 127˚47'00" Klaskish Inlet, N side of Brooks Peninsula, NW side of Vancouver I). Donald A McDougal was a wireless operator and survey assistant on the BC coast aboard CGS William J Stewart in the 1930s. Named by regional hydrographer Henri Parizeau, along with the nearby Donald Its, in 1946. McDougal I was formerly known as Shelter I.
