May Point

May Point (50˚29'00" 127˚51'00" NW tip of the Koskimo Is, Quatsino Sd, NW end of Vancouver I). Named in 1927 for William Delchante May, who acquired Crown grants of land in this vicinity in 1886 and 1911. This may be the same William May, born about 1831 in England, who is listed in the 1891 census as a farmer on the N end of Vancouver I. His wife Susan, born about 1834, and 11-year-old daughter Toddle were also recorded.
