Matthews Point


Matthews Point (48˚52'00" 123˚20'00" W of Mary Anne Point, S side of Galiano I, Gulf Is). Named by Cdr John Parry of HMS Egeria in 1905 for the Matthews family—Mark Reginald Matthews, his wife Mary (née Grubb), their three children and Mary’s sister Anne Grubb—who are believed to have lived on nearby Mary Anne Point in the late 19th century.
