Mason Rock


Mason Rock (52˚28'00" 129˚20'00" S of Harvey I, W of Aristazabal I, Hecate Str). T Mason Johnston, from Ottawa, was the son of Alexander Johnston, deputy minister of the federal Dept of Marine and Fisheries, 1910–33 (see Mt Johnston). This feature was named in 1927, when Mason was a youngster, by regional hydrographer Henri Parizeau, who also named nearby Frances Rk and Steele Rk after Mason’s mother.
