Maskelyne Island


Maskelyne Island (54˚38'00" 130˚27'00" S entrance to Work Channel, S side of Portland Inlet, N of Prince Rupert), Maskelyne Point (54˚39'00" 130˚27'00" N end of Maskelyne I). Maskelyne Point was named in 1793 by Capt George Vancouver after Nevil Maskelyne (1732–1811), a British mathematician and astronomer.
