Marshall Inlet


Marshall Inlet (52˚28'15" 131˚29'00" SW of Werner Bay, off Juan Perez Sd, E side of Moresby I, QCI). Chemist T Rhymer Marshall was sent to the QCI in 1902 by the BC Mining Bureau to investigate the presence of coal. He was guided by William Robertson, who first discovered coal in the Yakoun valley, but was apparently more impressed by the quality of the deposits he saw than by their commercial quantity.
