Margaret Bay


Margaret Bay (48˚30'00" 123˚18'00" W of Gordon Head, Saanich, N of Victoria). This feature appears on old maps as St Margaret Bay, but the name was changed to Margaret Bay in 1954. One source claims that it was named for Cecilia Margaret Finlayson (1870–1955, later Cecilia Cotton), who supposedly granted a public access to the bay via what is now Balmacarra Rd.
