Maple Bay


Maple Bay (49˚44'32" 124˚37'57" N of Favada Point, NW side of Texada I, Str of Georgia). A huge maple tree stood on the shore of the bay and was used as a landmark by fishermen for many years. According to Texada I historian Bill Thompson, a large still was operated at this location by a local landowner. The well-established name was adopted in 1989.
