Mallandaine Point


Mallandaine Point (52˚54'00" 129˚08'00" N entrance to Surf Inlet, W side of Princess Royal I). Named for Louisa Townsend (1831–1925), born at London, England, who came out to Vancouver I in 1862 aboard the brideship Tynemouth with her younger sister Charlotte. She worked as a governess before marrying Victoria architect Edward Mallandaine (1827–1905) in 1866 and raising five children.
