Madigan Point


Madigan Point (52˚11'00" 127˚54'00" SE end of Cunningham I, E of Bella Bella). Engineer Benjamin Madigan (1838–1920) immigrated to the US from Ireland as a young man and learned his trade at the Delamater Iron Works in NY. After working on steamships on the Cuba route, Madigan and his NY-born wife Margaret Francis (1838–96) moved to San Francisco and then to Victoria in 1862, where Ben found employment on the Diana and the Thames.
