Machta Point


Machta Point (50˚00'00" 127˚09'00" N entrance to Cachalot Inlet, Kyuquot Sd, NW side of Vancouver I). Named after a reserve of the Ka:’yu:’K’t’h (Kyuquot) First Nation near this site. The remains of the Cachalot whaling station and pilchard reduction plant were still visible in the early 2000s less than 1 km from Machta Point.
