Lyman Point


Lyman Point (52˚05'37" 130˚56'14" NE side of Kunghit I, QCI). Sir Lyman Poore Duff (1865–1955) was chief justice of Canada, 1933–44. Born and educated in Ont, he moved to Victoria in 1894 and established a busy legal practice. Duff was named to the BC Supreme Court in 1904 and to the Supreme Court of Canada in 1906, where he sat for more than 37 years.
