Lantzville


Lantzville (49˚15'00" 124˚04'00" Between Nanaimo and Parksville, SE side of Vancouver I). A colliery, known as Grant’s Mine, was first established at this location in 1917. The townsite that grew up around the mine was named after Fraser Harry Lantz (b 1868), vice-president and, later, managing director of Nanoose Collieries Co, which worked the property in the early 1920s.
