Kamano Island


Kamano Island (50˚34'00" 126˚30'00" Off E end of Harbledown I, N of W end of Johnstone Str). George Kamano (c 1835–1918), of Hawaiian descent, worked for the HBC at Ft Rupert, 1854–69, and then became the first non-aboriginal person to carve a homestead out of the forests of Harbledown I (qv).
