Hoiss Point


Hoiss Point (49˚42'00" 126˚33'00" SW entrance to Tlupana Inlet, Nootka Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Named after a former Nuu-chah-nulth habitation that was once located nearby on the site of today’s Hoiss First Nation reserve. The Hoiss Point Lodge, a floating fishing resort, operated at this location in the summer months in the early 2000s before being destroyed by fire in Nov 2006 and contaminating the region with Styrofoam debris.
