Herman Rock


Herman Rock (54˚10'00" 129˚57'00" Near the junction of the Ecstall R and Skeena R, SE of Prince Rupert). Peter Herman (1861–1906) was educated as a priest in his native Germany but joined the army instead and then became a seaman. He arrived in northern BC in 1885 to work as a logger for businessman Robert Cunningham, and in 1894 married Kate Spence at Port Essington.
