Herald Rock


Herald Rock (50˚43'00" 127˚24'00" W side of Beaver Hbr, Daedalus Passage, NE side of Vancouver I). HMS Herald, an RN survey ship, was on the BC coast in 1846–47, commanded by Capt Henry Kellett. Accompanied by a small brig, HMS Pandora, Kellett made the earliest detailed surveys of Victoria and Esquimalt harbours, Sooke Inlet and Juan de Fuca Str.
