Henslung Cove


Henslung Cove (54˚11'31" 133˚00'03" S side of Langara I, QCI). Slung is the Haida term for “bottom end of a bay,” and Henslung is apparently a corruption of the Haida name for this feature. In 1919, Capt Hume Babbington operated a short-lived cannery there; later this site was the homestead for many years of Al Peevey, trapper and telephone lineman.
