Heming Head


Heming Head (52˚50'00" 131˚38'25" E end of Talunkwan I, just E of Moresby I, QCI). Herbert Payne Heming (1863–1932) was born at Guelph, Ont, and came to Victoria in 1907 after spending two years in Vancouver. He married Elizabeth Aileen Domville (1870–1933). Heming had major timber and mining interests in the southern QCI and invested heavily in the development of the Hawk’s Nest copper claim near Heming Head in 1909. He also owned mining properties on Portland Canal. D
