Harvey Point


Harvey Point (48˚42'00" 123˚25'00" NE tip of Piers I, off N tip of Saanich Peninsula, N of Victoria). Named in 1965 for the Harvey family. James Harvey (1844–90), a Nanaimo merchant, came originally to BC from Scotland, was active in local politics and in 1870, at Victoria, married Agnes Dunsmuir (1849–89), second daughter of industrialist Robert Dunsmuir, BC’s wealthiest man.
