Haro Strait


Haro Strait (48˚35'00" 123˚19'00" Forms the BC-Washington boundary E of SE Vancouver I). Spanish naval officer Manuel Quimper, the first European to see these waters, named this strait in 1790 after his 1st officer, Gonzales López de Haro. López de Haro was no stranger to the PNW.
