Gypsy Shoal


Gypsy Shoal (50˚18'00" 125˚15'00" Lower Rapids, Okisollo Channel, between Quadra I and Okis I, N of Campbell R). Named in 1924 for the 25-tonne, 14-m tug Gypsy, built at Vancouver in 1905, which did considerable towing through these channels for BC Mills Timber & Trading Co, the province’s largest early lumber manufacturer.
