Grilse Point

Grilse Point (49˚48'00" 124˚36'00" NE end of Texada I, Malaspina Str). On the Pacific coast, grilse is the name given to immature salmon in their first year at sea. Presumably this is a good spot for catching them. On the E coast, where Atlantic salmon do not necessarily die after spawning, the word refers to small fish that are ready to enter a river and spawn after spending only one winter at sea.
