Grace Islands


Grace Islands (49˚26'00" 123˚27'00" S of SW Gambier I, Howe Sd, NW of Vancouver). Possibly named after Mary Grace Lett, wife of Charles Arthur Lett (1851–1923). The Letts were early settlers in the area, farming 5 ha on the SW shore of West Bay. In 1923 their home burned down, and Charles, trying to save some belongings, damaged his lungs so severely that he died.
