Godfrey Rock


Godfrey Rock (52˚08'00" 128˚30'00" W of Princess Alice I, SW of Athlone I, Milbanke Sd). Commodore Valentine Stuart Godfrey, OBE (1898–1968), born at London, UK, made his home at Victoria, where he married Margaret Horton Hardie (1899–1980) in 1924. He was an early graduate, in 1913, of the Royal Naval College of Canada and served on submarines, 1917–21. His first command was the destroyer Champlain in 1932.
