Goat Harbour


Goat Harbour (53˚21'00" 128˚52'00" E side of Ursula Reach, just N of Princess Royal I). This harbour, a supply centre for a number of local logging operations in the 1920s, was probably named after the mountain goat (Oreamnos americanus). Capt George Vancouver’s survey party noted a hot springs here. A floating post office opened briefly in the late 1930s.
