Gilttoyees Inlet


Gilttoyees Inlet (53˚50'09" 128˚58'24" Extends N from Douglas Channel, SW of Kitimat). From the Haisla word giltu’yis, meaning “long inlet” (pronounced GILL-tsoo-weez). Bishop Bay (qv) has the same Haisla name. Nearby Gilttoyees Ck is named for the inlet. The S part of Gilttoyees Inlet (formerly spelled Cult-ta-yees) was known as Dawson Arm prior to 1946.
